A Message from Ms. Vara

Dear Parents,

In the classroom, I am emphasizing the importance of exercise and healthy eating. At home, you can also focus on nutrition and exercise with your children. You can ensure that they get a good night of sleep! Students created their own healthy meal by coloring half a plate with fruits and vegetables; one quarter of the plate with meat, beans or eggs; and the last quarter of the plate with grains. You can see some of their "meals" in the posted photos.  Remember:  healthy foods build healthy bodies.  Healthy bodies help children learn. 

 

Students also pledged to say "No!" to unhealthy substances during Red Ribbon Week.  We learned that alcohol, drugs, and tobacco are monsters that affect our body and brain. Each child created a monster and you can see some of them on the photos.
